Well, thank you for that enlightening piece of information, Oralee. :|...
So, I've gotten quite a bit of feedback/critique over this fight scene, and I want to apologize to everyone for its lack of quality. I've been very disappointed with my art over the past few weeks and also frustrated that I've failed to deliver a decent page time and again. It's apparent that I need to study and practice a lot more before attempting another scene like this... So thanks for bearing with me, and I hope that I'll eventually improve if I work harder... :)
I think this scene was cool. If what your looking for is more dynamic fight scenes then try to experiment with more 3 dimensional poses and in your face action. as they are now your fight scenes seem stylized. like if I saw something like this somewhere else I would call it a WTS fight scene.
Right now its good as a fight scene but its like an action movie with no music, awesome stuff is happening but you need that musical touch to make it truly epic.
dont be disappointed in your art kristy. noticing flaws is a good thing, it lets you improve, but this is not bad enough to warrant disappointment :P IMO, anyway
@Bandkanon: He totally is. :I Because Oralee says so.
@Peter: Thank you. Yeah, frustration is good when it's used to fuel determination to improve. I'm still quite disappointed in myself, though. Oh well.
@Shaggers: Haha, the mental images... XD Poor Locke~
@Lobotomistman: o_o I see that you've chosen a side, then!
@Jacob: I know, right. Man, Locke, go take a bath. ... You know, when you have time. N-not right now. :I
@Frosty: :< Why did it go down so far..? ORALEE WHAT HAVE YOU DONE
@Lawelite: I agree, part of the problem is that they aren't dynamic enough for my liking. I want them to be fast and in-your-face, but when I draw them, they come out flat and stiff. :\ Just need more practice...
@aapur: Haha, that's why Locke has that arm. It's because he's a blonde! D:
@Ryan C.: Thanks. :) Agreed, the flow could definitely be better...
@MatthewJA: ... What.
@Thatguy: "Not bad" is enough to warrant disappointment from me, haha... I don't want "not bad" or even "good." I want excellence. :C Which is definitely not what I have now.
You're not going to believe me, but I think this sequence is great. There are nitpicks here and there, sure, but you're already showing improvement in keeping the figures fluid (panels 1 & 5 especially) and the choreography is top notch. So... >.>
Whaaa---in reply to your comment for this page. Your pages are great and while being an artist means continual growth, don't be negative about your current stuff! It's nicely done, but I have no doubt that you'll get even better, because that is the way of a talented person such as yourself!!
Lol! I missed ya! :D I've been good and you?
My comic is good so far. Going to bring it back soon, hopefully. Err..the self publishing idea was way too expensive so it's not worth it in the end. Webcomics are funner anywho. lol XD Thanks for asking though~
@ArchangelM127: I see no flaw in her thinking. None at all. :I Being nice totally means you can do anything. Anything.
@DonCassieCass: I saw that you update Behind Our Times in my Subscription feed! Eeee, so exciting~! (I'm going to go comment as soon as I finish this one!)
Hrk, I've been looking into self-publishing Wake the Sleepers for a while and yeah, it's so expensive. o_o I'll have to resize all the pages in order to get it down to a reasonable price. And I agree, webcomics are more fun! I love getting comments and stuff like this. :D It's a great motivator!
Also, yessss! Please doooo~! I adore your art. *o*
Oralee: That's it! :D He's just nice.
Rebecca: :| ... +watches him beat the crap out of Madoc+ ...is he?
