And then Locke wakes up on Haderty's inn floor and realizes that chapters 1 and 2 were all a dream. Thanks for reading!

... No, wait, I'm kidding, please come back next week!

All right, now for those of you who know me, you know that the following decision is going to be very hard for me to make. I like to keep going and pushing forward and never stopping no matter what and aaaaaaaaaa, but... I need to slow down.

I've been going full-throttle for almost a year and a half (even my month-long "hiatus" is dedicated to the comic behind-the-scenes), and it's wearing down on me both physically and mentally. With my full-time job and then drawing every evening, I'm sitting for 13-18 hours a day, and it's starting to take its toll. My back is a giant knot of stress, and I'm so worried about what people think about my comic that I'm not in a good state of mind like I used to be. It's not healthy, and I need to back off a bit.

So...as much as I don't want to, I'm only going to be updating only on Fridays. I can't say for how long, but long enough that I can relax and gather my bearings and get my health back to a good state. Maybe work on some things on the side that I've been putting off, draw art for the sake of experimentation, go outside, enjoy the holidays, etc.

Anyways, WtS isn't going to be stopping, but it'll only be Fridays for now. I'm really sorry that I have to slow it down, especially when I'm still trudging through the early stages of the story, but my health > this comic. I'm sure this should be obvious, and I should've done something about it sooner, but alas.

WtS is updating only on Fridays for now.

17th Nov 2011, 11:02 PM

I can respect that.

17th Nov 2011, 11:27 PM

Thanks. :) Looking forward to eventually moving back to the usual schedule once I get my head together.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:02 PM

hey that's cool Kristy, I don't think anyone is going to attack you with pitchforks because of this. If you need a break, you need a break, 'nuff said.

17th Nov 2011, 11:31 PM

what? no pitchforks and torches? aaaaaaaaw.

18th Nov 2011, 9:42 AM

I didn't think they would: I've got fantastic readers! But I still really hate to slow down... I'm so eager to get to the future chapters. Urgh. >8I

22nd Nov 2011, 1:05 PM

Holy crap, this page 8o

And hey, better to slow down a little than work yourself to the point that you drop it completely! Take care of yourself! o.o b

17th Nov 2011, 11:49 PM

I agree, I felt like I was going to quickly burn out if I kept going at that pace. Just need several moments to catch my breath~. x-x

22nd Nov 2011, 1:07 PM

NOOOOOO I need you to keep updating like to distract people from the fact that I haven't udated RR for months! Er uh....

Yeah...good idea about the health and all that....

But seriously that's cool. A webcomic shouldn't take away from your health. Unless you're making mucho moolah :P

Btw those dark eyes are fantastic. O.O

18th Nov 2011, 12:12 AM

Hahaha, yeah, what's happening with RR? :c I miss it. Still saving up for a laptop?

If WtS provided any sort of income, I wouldn't slow down for anything. But as it is now, the tools and time have cost me much more than the comic has made (which is $0). <_< Sometimes I forget that this is a hobby...

Thank you~ Maybe you'll see more of them soon...

Or maybe not. >_>

22nd Nov 2011, 1:11 PM

Yeah...the laptop thing isn't going to happen for a bit. I had a series of unfortunate events ending with my car finally dying. It lived 20 years, so I don't really blame it. But it came at an extremely inconvenient time. So now I have to get a loan to get another car and no one wants to give me a loan because I'm 21 and have no credit history and have only been in Texas a year and a half and only had a job for 9 months and apparently no one down here will take parents as co-signers if they're out of state. So its like "FINE don't take my money. I didn't want to give it too you anyway douche." -me. You can use that quote.

Haha yeah...that's pretty much the same here. Before we got put on hold.

23rd Nov 2011, 9:31 AM

With art as good as yours, quite frankly, it's a crime that it ISN'T more than just a hobby. It's professional grade.

8th Aug 2012, 10:50 PM

It's webcomics, you can do whatever you damn well please. You can update like once every two months and no one would have any right to complain. Unless you make a living off of it. *coughdresdencodakcough*

Anyway, do what's best for you. The readers will still be here.

18th Nov 2011, 12:23 AM

It's more about dedication and commitment to the comic than being afraid of what readers think. I know they'll be understanding, but I'm not the type that feels comfortable giving up. I often feel like I've failed myself if I can't keep the pace.

I'm so excited about future chapters and getting to the main story that I just want to grind through these beginning chapters as soon as possible. Slowly down to once a week means it'll take twice as long to reach that goal. Ah well.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:15 PM

I respect your decision Kristy, it takes me a week to draw what I do, so how you create what you do in the same amount of time I'll never know...

Still, at least there will still be a page full of awesome every friday!

18th Nov 2011, 3:08 AM

Thank you! Looking back, I'm not really sure how I've lasted so long either...

Slowing down does mean that I can spend more time drawing and coloring the pages. :) So maybe they'll eventually be better quality than the twice-a-week ones!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:17 PM

how much did it cost to dye your sclera black

18th Nov 2011, 5:03 AM

Too much. <_<

22nd Nov 2011, 1:18 PM

I totally understand where you're coming from there's been a lot of projects I've started where I've realized I've bitten off more than I can chew. Hopefully you feel better. :)

18th Nov 2011, 5:34 AM

It's not a good feeling to know that you've gotten in over your head in a project. Still, hopefully I'll be feeling well enough soon to jump back in the deep end. :P Hurray~!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:19 PM

Don't worry, I'm sure we all completely understand and respect your decision! You should definitely take care of yourself before anything!

18th Nov 2011, 7:08 AM

Thank you so much. :D It's only been a week, and I'm already feeling a bit better! We'll see how things are going after the holidays~.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:20 PM

It's completely understandable. You take time to relax and chill out. Also, don't worry about what people think about WtS. It's absolutely amazing. Take care of yourself, relax...

...and play some Skyrim :D

18th Nov 2011, 7:42 AM

I don't know if I know how to relax! I've been going and going and going for so loooong. I'm very glad that you're enjoying WtS, though!

I think I may be Skyrim'd out for now, actually. o_o Already. D:

(The fact that you're still using that avatar makes me laugh every time I see it. :D)

22nd Nov 2011, 1:25 PM

and then everyone was happy. The end. :U

and i know what you mean. is actually a good idea to not push yourself too much.

18th Nov 2011, 9:33 AM

And they all lived happily ever after. \^-^/ ...Until Friday.

You know, I say that same thing to people all the time, but I really need to learn to apply it to myself. :I

22nd Nov 2011, 1:28 PM

Yes, what everyone else just said. :) To me it's amazing you were able to do such amazing work at such a pace.

18th Nov 2011, 9:41 AM

Thank you! :D I'm hoping to get back into that pace once my motivation returns... The story has a long, long way to go. o_o

22nd Nov 2011, 1:29 PM

Come to our house (aka "The Land of NO Technology, No Internet, No Stress") for a relaxing time! We can promise you lots of sleep, boredom and healthy restaurant eating!

18th Nov 2011, 11:17 AM

That sounds...great, actually! :D Christmas is coming soon~!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:30 PM

EPIC page!!!

I guess we can all thank/blame SKYRIM for all this!!! That bastard vindictive whore of a beautiful magestically angelic ALTERNATE REALITY!!! Oh how my life was insignificant until the skies parted and Skyrim descended upon us mortals... WE'RE NOT WORTHY!!! Bawhawhawhaw :(( *snif*sob*

18th Nov 2011, 2:01 PM

Thank you. :D

Hahaha! Skyrim is pretty amazing, yeah! I've probably spent way too many late nights playing it. But I think it's time to set it aside for a bit. o_o Blasphemy, I know!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:33 PM

Hope you feel better soon!

18th Nov 2011, 2:02 PM

Thank you, Mag...ravan. o,o I can't help it, I have to type your full username. It's habit!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:34 PM

What just happened?

18th Nov 2011, 3:02 PM

Locke woke up. Or is about to. :)

18th Nov 2011, 3:16 PM

Kristy you are so awesome! I can't imagine you ever worrying what people think about this comic, unless it's "I'm worried people will kill me in my sleep because my comic is better than theirs." Speaking of, you better be glad you moved....

But anyway, I respect your Fridays-only decision, and I hope you feel better soon overall! =D

18th Nov 2011, 3:25 PM

Kimmyyyyyy~ :D

Haha, no, it's not that type of worry. o-o Although... I think I will sleep with the lights on tonight. >~>

Thank you! Everyone has been so gracious~. I'm very appreciative!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:40 PM

I approve of this page, and everything you just announced. :) Yay, Kristy!

18th Nov 2011, 3:53 PM

:D <3

22nd Nov 2011, 1:45 PM

Totally understandable. Don't worry so much about what people will think of the comic; it always has been and always will be fantastic.

18th Nov 2011, 4:33 PM

Thank you, Lounge. ^_^

22nd Nov 2011, 1:46 PM

Hey, no worries. I'm loving Wake the Sleepers and as long as it keeps popping up in my RSS, I'll keep reading. You take care of yourself.

18th Nov 2011, 8:06 PM

Thanks so much! I'm glad to see that the RSS feature is being put to use!

22nd Nov 2011, 1:46 PM

t'was the night before christmas and all through the house, not a creatcher was sturring, except for a certain guy that has blonde hair

19th Nov 2011, 12:51 PM

...Oh man, now I wish it was Christmas.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:47 PM

<grabs his pitchfork> Well, I'll get up in arms about it! <charges>
<Stabs all the foolish protesters complaining and pins them to his wall>
See? :D

19th Nov 2011, 10:04 PM

:D That is a much better use, I think!

Fortunately, I haven't heard any protesters. But they could come...out of nowhere. At any time. o___o Like a...ninja.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:50 PM

Suddenly exhibiting black sclera is a sign of poor health. You and Locke both need a break, obviously.

20th Nov 2011, 4:21 PM

Yeah, I'm sure the side-affects can't be good either. :X

Locke will never get a break. Neverrrrr.

22nd Nov 2011, 1:51 PM

Slowing it down is understandable. Keep up the amazing work and we'll always come back to see what happens next! :)

21st Nov 2011, 8:49 PM

Thanks so much, Peter! I'll try my best! :D

22nd Nov 2011, 1:55 PM

Those are REALLY pretty evil!Locke eyes.
